Festive Bold Red Lip and Glitter Eyeliner Makeup Tutorial
I've been wanting to do glitter liner for the longest time, and today I finally had the opportunity to do it.
Here, I’m going to show you a bold red lip makeup look with glitter eyeliner which is perfect for the holiday season. Let's get started.
Tools and materials:
- Primer
- Eye serum
- Glow mist
- Foundation
- Beauty blender
- Bronzer
- Concealer
- Setting powder
- Brow pencil
- Eyeshadow primer
- Eyeshadow
- Makeup brushes
- Glitter liquid liner
- Liquid liner
- Eyeliner
- Mascara
- False lashes
- Blush
- Lip pencil
- Lipstick
- Setting spray
1. Primer and eye serum
Start by massaging some primer into your skin.
The primer I’m using contains coconut water, so it's super hydrating, and it makes my makeup last all day long.
Then, go in with some eye serum.
2. Glow mist
Spray on some glow mist for some extra glow on your face and hydration on your skin.
3. Foundation
Now go in with some foundation.
I’m using a shade that is slightly darker than my skin tone as I like to look tan, but I’m going to blend it down my neck with my beauty blender to blend it out.
Don't forget to blend the foundation into your ears and into your hairline really well.
4. Bronzer
Apply some bronzer to the perimeter of your face to bring some dimension.
5. Concealer
Use concealer under your eyes, the center of your face, your chin, and around the nose and mouth.
Then, blend the concealer out. This will really help to line up the foundation and balance everything out.
6. Setting powder
Bake your face with some setting powder. Apply it under your eyes, the t-zone, and underneath your contour to clean up a little bit.
7. Eyebrows
Fill in your eyebrows with a brow pencil to make them nice and defined.
Then, brush through some brow tones through your brows just to lighten them up a little bit.
8. Eyeshadow
For your eyes, first, go in with an eyeshadow primer. Pat it in and set it with a white eyeshadow.
Then, take a neutral-colored eyeshadow and apply it with a blending brush. The smaller the brush, the more control you will have over where you are placing the eyeshadow.
Go lightly into your crease and your lower lash line to connect everything together.
Then take an earthy, red-brown eyeshadow and apply it to your outer corners to bring some warmth to this look.
Take a clean blending brush and blend all the eyeshadows together.
For the moveable lids, we want to create a clean white base, so apply some white eyeshadow.
Next, take a dark brown eyeshadow and drag it along the lower lash line to really define it.
Then go in with a brow bone highlight and apply it under your brows.
9. Liquid liner
The star of the show is some glittery silver liquid liner. I find it easier to apply the glitter liner before the black eyeliner.
Once you’ve applied the glitter, go in with a liquid liner along the lash line. Then draw a wing at the sides.
For the waterline, go in with a cream liner in a neutral tone, as this will open up your eyes. With the dark shadow underneath, this will really make your eyes look big and round.
10. Mascara and false lashes
Apply mascara to your upper and lower lashes, and then apply some false lashes.
11. Bronzer
Go in with some more bronzer to define your cheekbones and go over it with a big powder brush to blend out any harsh contour lines. Nothing is worse than having a really streaky contour.
I decided not to wear any highlighter because I wanted to keep the skin nice and matte and have a satin finish because it's really classic and timeless.
12. Blush
Next, apply a medium-pink blush to your cheekbones. Then set your face with some setting spray.
13. Lips
Finally, remove the foundation from your lips. Then line your lips and fill them in with some lipstick in the same color.
This is the finished holiday makeup. I am so happy with the warm eyeshadow and dark red lips, and the glitter eyeliner is the cherry on the cake.
This is a gorgeous look for the festive season, and I hope you’ll give it a try.
