Bright colors are in this season and with good reason, sometimes all an outfit needs is a little pop of color to take it to the next level. If you would like to experiment with bold colors but wear mostly neutrals, a good way to start is by using small pops of color in layering or accessories and work your way up from there.

I am a big fan of neutrals, I find them easier to style and always use accessories and shoes to bring forward different colors. Neutrals are so versatile and easy to restyle time and again. They are the perfect backdrop to start experimenting with different colors, to find the ones that look best on you.

I recently found this vintage chain print button-down top while thrifting. I loved the bright colors on an ivory background. It gives just a little pop of color. I toned it down further by adding ivory wide-leg pants. In doing this the colors are not competing so the print becomes the center of the outfit.

Pulling the turquoise out of the top, and adding the same color heels keeps the color balance with the top, but adds an extra layer of interest. Shoes are a perfect way to add bold color.

A quick addition is a simple red button-down vest. Since it is a solid color, it becomes more of the focus and highlights the red on the top. Vests are also great tools to slenderize a waistline. They look great with anything.

Adding an ivory hat keeps the neutrals going, but adds some fun to the outfit.

Adding a coordinating red blazer gives the overall bold color, but the ivory pants still keeps it grounded. Sunglasses and a turquoise flower on the lapel are 2 extra pieces to add visual interest. Pocket scarves or flowers are a great way to add small amounts of color to solid blazers.

Adding the hat as an option gives it a polished look but sunglasses also do the trick.

I chose an ivory quilted purse since I wanted red to be the focus of the outfit.

All easy ways to take small steps to wear more bold colors. It's always fun to experiment with new styles now and then, you never know what may become your new favorite look!

Blessings,

Eden
