3 Quick & Simple Ways to Elevate a Basic Jeans Outfit
In this style guide, I’m going to show you how you can style one pair of denim jeans in three different ways. They are a pair of light-wash mom jeans, and I want to show you how you can elevate and transform them into something a bit chicer.
If you are in need of some basic jeans outfit inspiration, you’ve come to the right place.
1. White t-shirt
In the first look, I paired the jeans with a really simple white t-shirt. I tucked the t-shirt in at the front to give my waist some definition. I didn’t need to tuck it in all the way around because just tucking at the front does the trick.
Over the top, I popped on a tweed blazer which is a real statement piece and dresses up the whole look. The white in the design helps to tone the red down a bit, creating an effect that is powerful but not overly loud.
To match the red of the blazer, I added some bold red lipstick. For footwear, I decided to pop on a pair of white sandals, and a simple white purse finishes the look. I love how bold this look is.
2. White shirt
Here, I’m wearing a white menswear shirt, and I decided to do the cross tuck with this shirt. You can go for a regular tuck, but I wanted to add a little interesting element.
When it comes to shoes, I wanted to create this look to be office appropriate, and for that reason, I went for some black loafers.
Over the top of the outfit, I added a blazer. I love how the blazer goes with the loafers, and I styled it by pulling the cuffs of the shirt out from under the blazer and then just rolling them over for a chic finishing touch.
To accessorize, I added a stack of gold rings and a necklace. I love how all of these pieces work together.
This look is a little bit more masculine, so I kept my hair down instead of tying it up to incorporate a feminine touch.
3. Black shirt
In the last look, I’m wearing a silky black shirt. It is a really long shirt that I also have the option of wearing as a mini-dress. The dark color of the shirt contrasts really nicely against the light blue of the jeans.
For shoes, I went for black pumps. Again I wanted to create something that is night-out appropriate, but you could also wear an outfit like this to work. I went again for my rings and necklace and finished the look with some bold red lipstick.
How to elevate a basic jeans outfit
There we have three basic yet elevated jeans outfits. Think of your jeans as a blank canvas that you can take in so many different directions. Whatever occasion you’re dressing for, there is a way to style your jeans to create the effect you want.
