3 Ways to Style Knee-High Boots

It’s boot season, and there are so many options to choose from. Are you into ankle boots, mid-calf, knee-high or over-the-knee? My favorite is the knee-high boot. It offers some coverage on the leg when it’s cold outside and always looks chic.

You can find knee-high boots in various styles, from leather to vegan leather to stretchy fabric. They also work for dressy to casual outfits.

I put together three ways to style knee-high boots to give you some ideas for wearing them.

Knee-high Boots and Mini Skirt

The mini skirt is such a great addition to your wardrobe because it can go from summer to winter when you add tights and leggings underneath. I actually prefer mini skirts with leggings in the winter because they look great with all kinds of boots, and you never have to worry about them colliding and creating a frumpy look. Pair a mini with tights or leggings and knee-high, flat-heel boots for a look that will take you on casual outings.

Knee-high Boots with Jeans

No matter what kind of jeans you wear – skinny, wide, straight, or boot-cut, the knee-high boot is your perfect choice. I’m still a fan of skinny jeans, despite efforts to push it out of style, because it creates a sleek silhouette, and they tuck smoothly into knee-high boots. If you’re going for wide or straight-leg jeans, be sure to have enough room in the calf of your boots to tuck them in, and know it will create a billowy jodhpur look to your jeans. With boot-cut jeans, you can wear the boots under them as they are designed with a wide leg at the bottom to make room for the boot.

Knee-high Boots with Midi Skirt

In the 1970s, the midi skirt and knee-high boots were all the rage, and it’s easy to see why. It provides full leg coverage for chilly days, and a midi skirt cuts off right at the knee where the boot starts, creating a streamlined look. I love A-line skirts because they have a little flow, unlike a body-con skirt. Pair it with a high-heeled leather knee-high boot, and you have a classy look that can take you from day to night.
