3 Easy Tips on How to Build the Perfect Closet

1. Styling through mood swings

One day you may feel you want to express your creative side. Another day you might want to stick to your comfort zone. Your perfect closet allows you to be all of these things, so you never lose track of your personal style.

These looks share fundamentally the same foundation but with very different vibes.

The piece that anchors these outfits is the wide-leg cropped pants. These add a great dimension and allow you to express different moods through one shell foundation. 

If you’re feeling daring or want to experiment, add color. If you want to be refined and elevated, try a one-shoulder.

You mix and match elements, but still feel like the same person.

2. Styling for comfort

These navy bottoms give a lot of flexibility to build along the scale. The material is super comfortable and warm for a busy weekend, and the shoes are stylish but I’m able to move in them.

In each look, I’m building around these elements so I’m not sacrificing comfort for style. 

In the first outfit, the red sweater with the yellow pumps is intense and daring. The second outfit is all blue, but I’m playing with shapes, shades, and textures.

In the last outfit, the grey hoodie gives a chill vibe while the blazer grounds the relaxed pieces. 

Comfort stems from the understanding of the environment you’re in while sticking to who you are.

You should be able to feel like yourself in completely opposite terrains, situations, and places.

3. Styling for style

This A-line skirt is another anchor to navigate through pieces and occasions.

It’s got a relaxed vibe that can make you appear elegant, but not unapproachable.

Mix colors in the same family to give an impression without trying too hard.

Add one or more colors, bold or not, to evoke a creative and stylish vibe.

Blazers are dependable and give a good balance between relaxed yet refined, cool yet serious, and creative yet practical. 

Avoid wearing neutrals like blacks, whites, and grays without texture because it can be uninspiring and uninteresting. If you’re wearing something interesting, you’ll feel interesting.
