An Easy Tutorial on How to Crochet Ruffles
Here, I’m going to show you how to crochet a ruffle.
Ruffles look so feminine and so pretty, and they’re so simple to make. Let’s jump on in!
Tools and materials:
- Yarn
- Crochet hook
1. Crochet a chain
Start with a chain that is as long as you want your final ruffle to be at the end.
2. Crochet first row
Next, crochet the first row. It should be double crochet inside every stitch until the end of your chain.
3. Crochet second row
For the second row, work not inside the stitches but inside the gaps. Make two double crochet inside every gap.
Repeat this for the first three gaps.
Here are six double crochet inside three gaps.
4. Crochet chain
After that, you need to chain five and slip stitch to make a ring.
5. Repeat
Repeat this pattern, making rings till the end of the row.
6. Make the next row
For the next row, make one double crochet inside every stitch, and inside the rings, you also need to make double crochet stitches.
The more stitches inside every ring you make, the more volume your final ruffle will have.
7. Continue
The next row is much easier - no gaps and no rings, you just need to make one double crochet inside every stitch.
You can go on and make more and more rows with a double crochet if you want your ruffle bigger, or you can stop here.
