Breaking Down How to Crochet With Beads

In this quick tutorial, I’ll be breaking down how to crochet with beads. Follow along to try a cute, heart pattern with me!
Tools and materials:
- Graph paper
- 2 pens in different colors
- Beading needle
- Crochet hook
- Yarn
- Pink and white beads
1. Make a heart pattern
Draw a geometric heart shape with a pen on graph paper.
To determine the color placement of the beads, make a square around the heart and number the bead places.
Notice that each row starts from the left. Between each row of beads there will be one row of single crochet without beads.
2. Thread the beads
Looking at the pattern, starting at the bottom of the heart, we need to put 6 white beads followed by 1 pink bead and then 6 white beads.
Thread the beads onto the beading needle with yarn, in the order from your pattern.
Finish beading. Now for the moment of truth!
3. Crochet a chain plus a row of single crochet stitches
Crochet a simple chain.
Then make 1 row of single crochet stitches without beads.
4. Incorporate the beads
Next, move 1 bead closer to the hook and make a single crochet stitch.
Continue by moving each bead closer to the hook and crocheting it in place.
Continue with each line of beads in this way, and between every beaded row, crochet a row without beads.
Here’s the completed heart:
