Here, I’m going to show you how to add life to a plain black thrifted blazer by adding some sequin flowers to it.

This is such a cool upcycle that will completely transform the blazer by adding some sparkle and glitz.

Tools and materials:

  • Blazer
  • Sequin flowers
  • Fabric glue

Sequins

All you need to do is take some sequin flowers and place them around the blazer equidistant from one another.

Then stick them on with fabric glue.

I used around 100 sequin flowers in total and found it easiest to first lay them down over the whole of the front of the blazer and then stick them on. This way, you can ensure that you are happy with the design before gluing.

Then repeat on the back of the blazer.

Here is the finished look. It looks just like the picture that I was trying to copy!

I also made a pair of shorts in a matching design to create a gorgeous two-piece set.

I hope you enjoyed this upcycle as much as I did and will give it a go for yourself.
