Tools and materials:
- Claw clip
- 3 hair elastics
- A few bobby pins
Half braid hairstyle, Option A:
1. Get the top section of hair out of the way
Collect the hair at the crown of your head into a half ponytail, twist the ends and secure with a claw clip.
2. Make a low ponytail
Collect the rest of the hair in a low ponytail with an elastic.
3. Make a braid
Take out the top section of hair and braid it. Secure the end with an elastic.
4. Thread the ponytail through the braid
Poke a hole with your fingers toward the bottom of the braid and pass the bottom of the ponytail through that hole.
Here’s the final option A:
Here is an alternative hairstyle based on the start of the first look. You’ll start the same way.
Half braid hairstyle, Option B
1. Repeat steps 1-3 of Option A
2. Make a low bun
Twist the low ponytail into a spiral-like bun, then secure with an elastic.
3. Poke the bun through the braid
Poke a hole toward the bottom of the braid and push the bun through it.
4. Wrap the bun with the braid
Take the end of the braid and wrap it around the bun, then secure the end with a bobby pin.
Here’s the final option B:
Braided ponytail hairstyle
1. Braid the front two quarters of hair
Section off the front quarter of hair on one side of your face. If you have bangs, make sure they are separated.
Then braid that section, not too tight and not too loose. Secure it with an elastic at the end.
Repeat the same process with the other side.
2. Join the braids
Tie the two braids together about 2-3” under your chin with a third elastic.
3. Make a low ponytail
Tie the rest of your hair in a low ponytail.
4. Pull braids to the back
Pull the braids over your head, to the back. Then, twist the loop of the braids to make a hole and thread the ponytail into that hole.
Finally, pull the ends to tighten everything into place. Here’s the final hairstyle 2:
Braid bun hairstyle
1. Get the top section of hair out of the way
Just like with Hairstyle 1, make a half ponytail with the top section of your hair. Secure it with a claw clip.
2. Make a braid
Braid the bottom section of hair and secure with an elastic.
3. Thread the ponytail through the braid
Bringing the braid upward against your head, make a hole toward the bottom of the braid and thread the ponytail through it.
4. Twist
Twist the rest of the ponytail around itself.
Then join the braid and twisted ponytail ends into a bun. Secure loose ends with two bobby pins (or however many you need).
Tease the braid out a bit and voilà, here’s the final hairstyle 3:
