How to DIY Unique Sweater Nails
In this tutorial, I’ll show you a technique for creating a nail design that looks a lot like a cozy sweater. This monochrome nail art can be done in any color you like, and is quick and easy to accomplish.
I am demonstrating this sweater nails design on false nails, but, of course, you can do it on natural nails too.
So, grab your favorite nail color, put on a cozy sweater, and let’s begin coordinating the two!
Tools and materials:
- 1 set of false nails (optional)
- Nail polish in your favorite color
- Nail dotting tool
1. Base coat
Apply one coat of your favorite nail polish to your natural or false nails.
2. Add dots
Use a nail dotting tool to place dots of nail polish, in the same color as your fist coat, near the top of your nail.
3. Add sweater texture
Make two more, slightly larger dots, below the first set, and pull the dot polish down to connect those two dots with a diagonal line below them.
Make the lines a little thicker so the dot and line pattern begins to look like a heart shape.
Continue that pattern of two dots, followed by the heart shape, all the way down to the base of your nail, ending with two small dots.
I got five repetitions of the pattern on my very long false nails.
Repeat the sweater nails technique on however many nails you want in your set.
