I often get asked to transform peoples old crockery into one of a kind jewellery and so when this bundle of crockery was donated to me I wanted to create a thank you piece in return.

I choose a few pretty flowers which I think would make a lovely pendant necklace. Next step is to sand it using a mini hand tool with a grinding stone.

Old cracked crockery

I love working with old and vintage pieces to create new life into them in form of jewellery. I start by cutting up into smaller pieces using wheeled tile nippers. Remember to wear eye goggles against flying pieces.

Once the shape is as you feel is right for the piece it’s time to drill a hole. I use a diamond tip drill piece and use water to cool it as slowly slowly goes through the china. Wearing eye goggles is a must.

Drilling

I use a bail which pinches easily into the hole with pliers and then choice of chain to complete the necklace. I choose a silver box chain and isn’t it a gorgeous one of a kind pendant!
