How to Get Salt Stains Out of UGGs in 3 Quick & Easy Steps

In today’s tutorial, I’m going to be showing you how to get salt stains out of UGGs. Try as you might to avoid it, it can end up happening, especially during the winter when our roads and sidewalks are salted for the snow.
Salt stains leave an undesirable film on our winter boots, affecting their appearance. Whether you’re trying to clear off thrifted boots like me or clean your own, keep reading to find out how to remove stains from UGGs.
Tools and materials:
- UGG boots
- Boot stuffers
- White vinegar
- Water
- Cloth
- Bowl
1. Stuff your boots
Stuff your boots and make sure it’s nice and firm, so they can dry in that position. You don’t want your UGGs to mold in a way that deforms the boot.
I’m using this cardboard insert that came with the UGGs when I bought them. You can use bubble wrap, newspaper—whatever you can find to stuff it so it’s nice and firm.
2. Make the solution
The solution we’re using to clean our UGGs is super simple to make. It’s a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar and water.
3. Apply the solution to the boot
Use a cloth to apply the solution of the boot in a single direction. I recommend avoiding cloths with color, as there is a possibility it can transfer to your boot.
Apply a thin and even layer, making sure not to overly saturate the boots. You may need to repeat this process, depending on how severe the stains are.
