1. Contour
Start with your regular contouring to add color back in. I like starting with this brown shade shown below.
2. Apply blush
Next add blush before doing any color correcting.
Many times, the blush helps cover up some skin discoloration, at least in the cheek area.
You can see on this side of my face the melasma that I’m aiming to cover with the blush.
Apply your blush as usual.
3. Color correct
This step takes some trial and error to determine how to counter your personal skin discoloration.
Use the demi shades that work for you. For the best results, use natural light and a magnifying mirror.
Start by touching lightly on the darker spots, using a shade based on the picture above.

Then use a thicker brush to blend out any extra pigment.
Then, go back in with the smaller brush to see where you need extra coverage, or if you need to switch shades.
4. Brighten the under eye bag lines
Pick a lighter shade of the demi colors to pull forward the under eye bag lines. Avoid applying it to the areas that protrude outward.
5. Additional touch ups
Refer to the color chart from above to make any additional touch ups to the skin. Here, I’m covering a sun spot.
Make sure you only touch the area that needs coverage. Then, switch to the thicker brush to lightly feather it out.
Make adjustments as needed. This looks a little bit too light, so I’ll touch up with my main highlighting shade.
6. Address your brows and lips
Over time, mature skin gains a lot of unwanted pigmentation, but we also lose a lot of color in our brows and lips.
Address your eyebrows and lips to make them pop. Then, this cream concealer method of color correcting for mature skin will be complete.
