Creating hand stamped bracelets for happiness is so simple with the awesome tools and blank pieces from Impress Art. The girls who made these are Cadette level Girl Scouts in the seventh grade. Earning the badge ‘The Science of Happiness’ is all about creating one’s own happiness and ways to access inner peace and joy. This project is part of the series Girl Scout Projects to Build Character and Self Esteem. The post is sponsored by ImpressArt but the ideas and opinions are all my own.

Our troop LOVES to make things. They love to make ALL THE THINGS! Anytime we can get creative and be makers while growing and learning, we go for it. Hand stamping jewelry is a craft that they all love. Before deciding what words they wanted to put on their bracelets, we talked about what word combinations mean. There is a difference between the word ‘happy’ alone and adding a word to make it ‘be happy’ or ‘choose happy’. They discussed it and then decided what they wanted their bracelet to say based on what would work best to remind them that creating happiness comes from within. They used ImpressArt’s 6 mm DECO alphabet on bracelet blanks.

Here are the steps.

  1. Tape your bracelet blank to the stamping block. Washi tape works great.
  2. Use Stamp Straight Tape if you want to create your words to be even. Not everyone does.
  3. Stamp your words, one letter at a time with the hammer.
  4. Remove the bracelet and then the film from both sides.
  5. Add black paint in the carved out areas then rub the excess off with a paper towel.
  6. Bend the bracelet using the Bracelet Bending Bar.
  7. Wear it!

I love them all but these are three of my favorites.

A while back I shared some other awesome hand stamped jewelry for Girl Scouts inspired by the Girl Scout Law.

If you would like to win a set of stamps (Sans Serif Uppercase Letters 2.5 mm) and 10 bracelets blanks, hop over to the ImpressArt website and then come back here to comment and share your favorite ImpressArt alphabet. I would also LOVE to know what you would want to make if you win.

If you want to go out and buy the materials to make jewelry this very minute, you can get it at most of your local craft stores.

Cheers to HAPPY Girl Scouts,

Laura
