If any of you know me, you know I love leather and I love pearls. So, after realizing that it’s been far too long since I’ve done a simple leather bracelet, I decided to take one on as a project. Here is my tutorial on a really simple, easy-to-make, and affordable pearl and leather bracelet!

Tools and materials:

  • Black leather (30 inches, 1.5 mm)
  • G.S. Hypo Cement
  • Pearl
  • Sliders
  • Barrel knot tube
  • 4 decorative tubes
  • Cutters

Make a leather bracelet

Make a barrel knot

Find the center of your leather and weave your pearl to that point. Next, mark the areas with your thumb and place your barrel knot tube over the leather. Wrap the leather around the tube twice (working towards your left hand), run the lather through the back of the tube, and pull the tube out to form a barrel knot. Repeat this on the other side of the pearl and use your thumbnails to push the knots against the bed and secure it.

How to make a leather bracelet

Add your clasp

Add decorative beads to either side and secure them with the same two-barrel knot. Next, grab your cutters and use a really sharp edge on one of the ends. Then take the slider and push it on your thick end. Once that’s done, take your cut end and slide it into the slider as well. Push it through and pull until the bracelet is your desired size. To do this, line the clasp (slider) across from the pearl and stick your hand through the bracelet. Once you’ve checked the size (and made sure that it could fit over your hand) make a barrel knot on the side of the clasp.

Add a decorative bead onto the leather (next to where you just tied your barrel knot) and add another barrel knot to keep the bead in place. Repeat both these steps on the second side.

Secure the ends

Once you’ve secured all your beads (and clasps) cut off any excess leather. Next, grab your G.S. Hypo and place some in the rim of the knots. This will help keep the knots secure when you’re pushing and pulling the straps to get the bracelet on and off.

This DIY leather bracelet is one of my favorites because of how quick it is to make. It comes together in no time flat. I also love that the bracelet is easily adjustable. Just hold onto one end, pull the other and enjoy!
