I love to design unique wearable pieces of art even better if they tell a story or can be a keepsake from the past. Collecting old vintage crockery that has beautiful designs and flowers on. Just call to me to be loved again to be transformed and worn proudly,

Old crockery

I choose some lovely pieces of floral ceramic that has designs on that I feel would make a good pendant necklace.

I use wheeled tile nippers to shape slightly to look more balanced.and remembering to wear eye goggles is paramount. .

Wheeled tile nippers

They are easy to use and make nipping and nibbling china so effortless .

Shaping the ceramic

Next job is smoothing rough edges with a mini hand held tool with a carbide sanding wheel attachment. Always wearing eye goggles for any work with china .

Sanding

Once happy with the shape and smoothed edges it’s time for sanding a little bit of the back ready for fixing the silver bail piece to hold the chain on. Bail is with a textured paddle shape that help it adhere to the ceramic. Easily available to buy online.

Glue the bail
Position bail into china

The two part epoxy resin is easy to prepare with a pea size of each

mixed together then spread on to the bail and the ceramic and hold in position until set hard and firm which will take. a few minutes.

I am so thrilled with the result and use a silver snake chain to make the necklace complete and the beautiful Art Deco tulip china is a unique vintage keepsake.
