DIY Leaf Pendant From Wire

Tools and materials:

• 20 inches of 26 gauge wire (0.4 mm)
• Chain nose pliers
• Wirecutter

Twist

Bend the wire in half, and twist it so there’s a small loop in the center. Then continue making twists down the wire, until the twisted part of the wire is 3 centimeters (1 inch) long. 

Bend and crimp

Bend the wires back so they are at the sides of the twist, and crimp the end with chain nose pliers.

Pull 

Pull the wires outward from the side. You should have a bit of a pointed shape at the top. 

Bend and twist

Bend one wire so it creates a half-circle shape beside the center of the leaf. From front to back, wrap the excess wire twice around the center. Repeat with the second wire, this time twisting the wire around the center from the back to the front. 

Insert and bend

Insert the end of one wire into the center of the loop above it, from back to front.

Then fold the wire around the loop above it, and bring it back to center, wrapping it twice around the center, front to back. Repeat on the second side, inserting the wire front to back, and twisting back to front. 

Continue

Continue running the wire through the loop above it, and twisting it around the center until you reach the loop at the bottom. 

Wrap and cut

Run the excess wire once through the loop, and twist it once or twice around the neck of the loop. Then cut off the rest of the wire.

Crimp

Use chain nose pliers to gently squeeze the wires around the loop into place. 

Then, squeeze each wire just below where they fold over the loops above them to tighten everything.

Your pendant is complete. Make a second one and attach hooks for earrings, or slip it on a chain for a necklace.
