Make a Knot Headband in 5 Minutes With This Super-Simple Tutorial
I'm going to show you make a knot headband - it's the easiest DIY ever! If you don't have any experience sewing, this is the perfect project to start out with because you literally can't go wrong with it. So let's begin our DIY knotted headband tutorial.
Tools and materials:
- Stretchy fabric
- Sewing machine or needle and thread
- Clips or pins
1. Sew the long side
Start by taking a piece of fabric that measures 22 x 8 inches (56cm x 20cm). Fold it in half lengthways so that the right sides are touching. Then, join the long sides together using clips or pins. Proceed to sew the long side of the fabric, leaving ½ an inch (1cm) seam allowance.
Tip: I used clips to join the sides together because they don't leave holes in the fabric, but you can use pins if this will make the sewing process easier for you.
2. Sew the ends
Turn the fabric right side out and give it a good press down with an iron, making sure that the seam line is in the middle. Bring the two ends together so that the top lies over half of the bottom one.
Then wrap the bottom part of the top piece underneath.
Wrap the other side of the bottom piece over the top. Proceed to stitch the edges down, leaving a ½-inch seam allowance.
3. Trim
When you've sewed it down, trim off the excess fabric as well as the corners. Once you've done this, just open it up, and you have your headband.
