  • Bronzer
  • Red lipstick
  • Foundation

Applying foundation and concealer

1. Apply foundation

Before we hop into the fun part of creating lace eye mask makeup, it’s always good to start with a clean canvas. So go ahead and put foundation and concealer on your face.

Applying brown eyeshadow

2. Apply eye makeup

Start by applying eyeshadow on your mobile eyelids, from the lashline to where your eyes naturally crease. I’m using a warm brown with a metallic finish. The eyeshadow is cream-based. But you can use anything you have on hand.

Blending the eyeshadow to the crease

Now, blend the eyeshadow through the crease so it blends upwards.

Building pigment with a second layer

Go in with a second layer to build the pigment.

Applying brown matte eyeshadow at the socket

Take a brown matte eyeshadow, and with a fluffy crease brush, work it into the socket of the eye.

Applying eyeshadow under the lower lashline

Now, add some eyeshadow underneath the lower lashline.

Line the waterline with eyeliner

Line the waterline of the eyes.

Blending black eyeshadow with the brown

Add some matte black right on the upper lashline, and apply it around the mobile eyelid.

3. Create the masquerade mask outline

With a soft but sharp black eye pencil, start creating the shape of your Halloween masquerade ball makeup mask.

Work your way around your face. Sure, this is an intricate part of the process, so it can take a lot of time to trace. If you make a mistake, it’s no big deal. You can easily erase the pencil and start again.

Now that you have the basic shape go in with your eyeliner. I’m using eyeliner with a very fine tip.

Add the details within the parameters of the mask. Be sure to work from the top of the mask and then all the way down. If you start at the bottom, your hand may rub off on the makeup and cause it to blotch.

Masquerade mask makeup step by step

Allow your brush to do its own thing- let it follow the natural curves of your face. The point is to make it look natural.

5. Add shadow

If you feel like your eyes need to be darker, go ahead and apply more eyeshadow.

Contouring the sides of the nose

Once your lace mask makeup has dried, gently add some contour color to the sides of your nose; this will add a little shading and give your mask some depth.

Applying false eyelashes

6. Finish off the makeup

Next, apply some lovely false lashes.

Applying bronzer to the cheekbones

Add some vibrant bronzer to the cheeks’ hollows, which will create a bit more structure to your cheekbones.

Applying red lipstick

Top off the look with a deep red lipstick!
