Easy and Natural Makeup Tutorial for Over 50s

In this tutorial, I’ll demonstrate a natural makeup look for women over 50.
The makeup and the process take mature skin into account and you can recreate the look in under 10 minutes.
The products I'm using today are from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of product.
Tools and materials:
- Moisturizer
- Primer
- Foundation
- Assorted makeup brushes
- Concealer
- Cocoa eyeshadow
- Blush
- Brown eyeliner
- Black mascara
- Lipstick
1. Pre-makeup prep
Before applying any makeup, follow a skincare routine using moisturizer and eye primer if you like.
Pop some clips on your hair if you need to help keep it out of your face. Now I’ m setting my timer for 10 minutes!
2. Apply primer
Once your moisturizer has soaked in completely, put a few pumps of primer on the back of your hand and then apply it evenly to your face.
This provides a smooth base for foundation.
3. Apply foundation
Next, put a few pumps of foundation on the back or your hand with a small amount of primer and mix them.
Then apply the mixture to your face using a foundation brush.
Buff it in really well because, even though we’re aiming for 10 minutes, this is the canvas on which you're going to paint your picture.
4. Apply concealer
For a bit more coverage, apply concealer to mask the dark, under eye circles.
Apply the concealer as needed to any sun spots or age spots.
Use your finger as you go to pat it all in.
5. Apply eyeshadow
Now I’m going to begin addressing my eyes by using a warm, cocoa shade of shadow.
Apply a wash of color to the lid and bring it just above the socket line.
If you don’t have a lot of time to “faff around” with your makeup, applying one eyeshadow shade is just fine!
A mid-tone color offers a bit of color and definition.
Since we’re short on time, I’m going to use some of the cocoa eyeshadow to lightly fill in my brows as well.
Just be sure to use a shade that matches your natural color.
6. Apply eyeliner
Gently hold the corner of your eye as I’m doing here and apply a brown eyeliner to your top lash lines.
Then apply a little bit to your lower lash lines as well. Be sure to bring the bottom line to meet the top.
Then, soften the line using a wedge brush dipped in a bit of the cocoa eyeshadow. This will also help set it for the day.
7. Apply mascara
Next, apply black mascara to define your lashes.
Then apply the slightest amount on your bottom lashes. This is optional.
8. Apply blush
Next apply a rosy blush to your cheekbones. I apply it with my finger to start with.
Then blend it in well with a brush in upward, swirly strokes.
9. Apply lip color
Now, apply your favorite lip color. I’m using a coral shade here.
10. Finishing touches
If you still have a moment left, check to see if anything needs more coverage.
Here, I’m adding a bit more concealer, blending the blush a bit more and darkening the creases of my lids for more definition.
Time’s up! Take a step back from your mirrors and admire this simple makeup!
