Bridal Wedding Shoe Decal Tutorial

With my wedding only 4 weeks away, it is time to start getting those wedding crafts from my Pinterest board and into my craft room. Like most brides to be I have collated quite a few ideas over the past few years. We have scaled back our wedding but their is still room for some cute wedding crafts.

What you will Need

  • Cricut Design Space
  • Blue Vinyl
  • Vinyl Cutting Machine
  • Transfer Tape & Pokey Tool

How to Make

These wedding shoe decals make really cute hidden detail for your wedding outfit, act as your something blue and make a cute memento of your big day. They are really easy to make, start by measuring the space under your heel arch, to find out the size you have to work with.

Select the free heart shape on design space, I make my designs oversized, just because it is easier to work with, then I shrink it to the right size once I am happy with the design.

On one heart I wrote “I Do” and the other “Mrs S”. Once happy with the layout, I attached the words to the hearts so they would cut into the shape. I also included the wedding date to sit under the hearts. I reduced the size of my design to fit in the space under my shoe then set my machine to cut the design out.

I recently learnt how to reverse weed (thanks TikTok) this is a great way to weed those smaller trickier designs out, place your whole cut design onto the transfer tape, peel off the backing sheet, then weed the pieces you don’t want out. It really helped keep the smaller vinyl pieces in place. Really worth a try.

Once you have weeded your wedding shoe decals out, you can stick them onto your shoes, make sure you have your shoes the right way round and the right way up before committing to sticking them down.

These shoe decals are really lovely for weddings but could also be used for other memorable events such as milestone birthdays, anniversaries and key dates.

I can’t wait to wear my personalised wedding shoes down the aisle soon! I hope you enjoyed this wedding shoe decal tutorial and give them a try for your special event.
