How to Create Quick & Easy Short Nail Designs That Look Classy

Tools and materials:

• Base coat
• Matte top coat
• Two polish colors of your choice
• Striping brush

I'm using nail polishes by 786, which are vegan and halal.

1. Apply a base coat

To get started on this pretty nail design for short nails, you need to pick a pretty base color. I went for this soft gray nail polish. I love this tone! Apply two coats and wait for them to dry. 

2. Create the nail art

I chose this beautiful pastel pink nail polish to draw lines across my nails. I also used a striping brush for this step for better accuracy. 

Create two lines on your pointer finger, one thick line down the center of your middle finger, two horizontal lines on your ring finger, and a vertical line down your pinky finger. So, each nail has a different design. 

Tip: Vertical lines make your nails look longer.

3. Apply a matte top coat

Now, take your matte top coat and apply it to your nails. This will mattify the look of the design. Wait for it to dry before finishing off your short nails design. 

4. Apply gold nail polish

Now, let’s add a pop of shine by adding a touch of gold glittery nail polish! With a striping brush, apply it in between the pink lines.

The lines don't need to be perfect and this is your design, so you can choose any colors or variations that you like. You can copy my design exactly or use this as inspiration to create your own.
