Styling Neutrals for Spring

Suited, not booted

Nothing says spring more than a feminine beige suit. I love the body-hugging fit of these trousers and the long, loose blazer - this is an essential piece in my spring wardrobe. I’ve styled it with a white top which, as you can see, is sheerer at the top and then more opaque as it goes down. The top adds a charming detail to the outfit.

Cream and white

Don’t think that you can only wear cream or white - you can wear both! Here I have on a cream top and trousers and a white blazer. The two colors compliment each other and create a harmonious look. The brown belt helps to break up the top and the trousers so that it doesn’t look like I’m wearing a jumpsuit.

Flowy and feminine

This flowy, off-the-shoulder top is gorgeous and feminine. Frills, flairs, and flowy materials mirror the gentle breeze of the spring weather, and they are also charming and attractive. The high-waisted trousers highlight my waistline, and they are also loose and flowy. I’ve matched the top with my shoes to coordinate the look and bring it all together.

Tall and slender

Belting a top helps to accentuate your waist and elongate your legs. The pointy toe heels further lengthen your figure. I love the silky blouse that I’m wearing here. Silks and satins are excellent materials to elevate your look and make it more classy.

Lovely and lacy

Here I’m wearing a lacy top which brings some really nice texture and detail to the look. I’ve used color blocking in this look with creams on the top and beige on the bottom. Color blocking is a great way to make you look put together and stylish.

Easy neutral outfit style

White and bright

Here again, I’m showing you that you can pair cream and white together. I have a monochrome white base, with a cream blazer and handbag to create some variety and contrast.

Safari chic

This dress gives me a Safari vibe, it is sort of a greenish-beige. The v-shaped neckline and loose short sleeves make this dress roomy and relaxed. The dress by itself would leave my silhouette looking a bit shapeless, so I’ve added a belt to create some definition.

The trench coat

Trench coats are great for spring because they help keep you warm and are also lightweight and graceful. Here I’ve matched my trousers to the color of the coat, and the white blouse creates a color block that breaks up the look and stops it from looking monotonous.

Stylish shorts

Keep your shorts looking stylish by belting them and pairing them with a blazer or a handbag. This creates a laid-back look that is still elegant and sophisticated. 

The plaid blazer

Plaid is really in at the moment, so I wanted to incorporate plaid into one of my looks. This outfit is slightly darker than some of the others in the lookbook, but it is still mid-tone, so perfect for spring. I haven’t gone for any black; instead I’m wearing tan, taupe and gray.

For me, getting your spring wardrobe right is all about getting your color palette spot on. I went with soft and light colors - creams, whites, tans, beiges, and taupes. To add contrast, I also included some more mid-tone colors, though nothing too dark. With many simple and versatile pieces, I can mix and match things together to create lots of different spring looks.
