Summer Outfit Ideas Without Jeans

I thought I would put together a few of my favorite summer looks that don’t involve denim. I know that as we’re starting to get dressed for the new season, it is easy to fall back on our old favorites, and denim is definitely one of mine. I put these looks together in the hope that it will help you seek out some of the older pieces that you already have in your closets that you can revive and refresh for this season without having to shop.

Refined dress

Every woman’s closet needs a fabulous feminine dress; it’s non-negotiable. The key to finding a killer dress is choosing a color that complements your natural coloring; the soft lilac of the dress goes really well with my tanned skin tone.

Easy summer outfits

Shirtdress

For an elevated everyday look, try a buttoned-down shirtdress. The vertical stripes on this one elongate the figure, creating a very flattering silhouette. A wicker bag will add a fun summer feel.

Style clothing for summer

Simple elegance

To create a gorgeous minimalist look, dress up a vest top and a pair of chino pants with a pair of loafers and a simple necklace. The appeal of this outfit lies in its stylish simplicity.

70s chic

Channel a 70s vibe by opting for a pair of high-waisted flared pants paired with a loose-fitting shirt and a headscarf—a bangle and a thick belt help to create a more maximalist look.

Neutral tones

Stick to a neutral color palette by pairing a pair of tan trousers with a cream sweater and some metallic flats. The knit of the sweater adds some subtle texture to this outfit.

Patterned pants

Add some flair with a pair of patterned pants. Pull out one of the colors from the pants and choose a matching colored top to suit. Allow the pants to be the centerpiece of the outfit by keeping accessories neutral and minimal.

Black mini

A black mini skirt will never let you down. Pair it with a simple denim shirt and a pair of white sneakers for an easy everyday look—little effort with maximal results.

Pretty in pleats

For an instantly elevated look, go for a pleated skirt. As the skirt is the focal point of your outfit, keep the rest of it minimalist with a simple white shirt and pair of flats.

Monochrome

Minimalist dressing at its best. Simply pair a black mini-skirt with a black t-shirt. Tie the t-shirt into a knot to add a bit of interest and break up the continuous color.

Polka dot

Add some warmth to your color palette with a bronze silk skirt. A dark navy blouse will provide some contrast, and you can create a cohesive look by wearing a pair of navy sandals to match. The polka dot print of the blouse is subtle yet stylish.

Comfy chic

Strike a balance between formal and casual by pairing a silk skirt with a relaxed cotton sweater. The sweater adds a soft and relaxed feel to the outfit. Finish off the look with a pair of closed-toe wedges for a stylish yet relaxed look.

Playing with proportions

Get those legs out with a pair of shorts, and add a pair of nude heels to elongate your legs. A long silk scarf tied around the neck will add to the lengthy proportions of the outfit.

Even though jeans hold a cherished place in our hearts, remember that there are lots of other clothing options out there. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and create some alternative outfits this summer. Have fun mixing and matching different pieces to create a versatile summer wardrobe.
