Let’s talk about oversized pants. They’re not the most straightforward piece of clothing to style, and you might get stuck for inspiration, reverting to the same one or two outfits. Fortunately for you, I’ve put together ten different looks, showing you how you can style these pants. So whatever occasion you’re dressing for and whatever vibe you’re looking to create, there is an outfit in this lookbook for you.

Scarf

Did you know that a scarf can double up as a top? Simply fold it in half, tie it around your back, and voila! Go for a gorgeous print, and ideally one that color matches your pants. The scarf I’m wearing here has some touches of navy blue in it, making it a perfect accompaniment to the pants. Let’s not forget that the sleeveless look of this top is ideal for hot sunny days.

Cropped

For a super simple look, opt for a crop top in a neutral color and choose a bag in the same tone. A pair of metallic sandals will finish off the look. This is a very minimalist outfit where less is more; simple pieces can go a long way.

White

Here’s another simple yet stylish one. I’ve gone for a plain white top, although as you can see, it has some beautiful ruffle, lace, and beaded detail. This top shows that you don’t need a lot of colors to make a statement; you can choose something that is one tone yet has lots of attractive features.

Stripes

Elongate your figure by opting for a vertically striped shirt. The combination of the shirt with the pants creates a relaxed everyday look. Add an element of texture to the look with a woven bag. The pointed-toe shoes keep you looking stylish. Even when dressing casually, you can still look on point.

Yellow

Add a splash of color with a yellow sleeveless top. A v-shaped neckline is very flattering and always a winner. Pair with sandals for slouchy summer days spent roaming around town. Also, don’t forget a woven bag; this material has summer written all over it.

Blouse

A great way to spruce up a blouse is to tie it at the front, adding a stylish tie detail to your outfit as well as drawing attention to your waistline. Accessories can be kept minimal with a simple purse to finish off the outfit.

Pink

Choose a soft, light color and contrast it with the rich deep blue of the pants. This might sound a little odd, but as you can see with this outfit, it totally works - the soft pink harmonizes well with the pants. There you have a no-fuss outfit that creates a pretty look.

Tomboy

For a tomboy look, style your oversized pants with an oversized white shirt and some sneakers. Add in a feminine element by keeping the bottom part of the shirt unbuttoned, revealing a bit of skin underneath—a great mix of masculine and feminine elements in one.

Black

Who said that black and navy don’t go? This outfit shows that they do. Add a feminine flair with a lacy crop top. The tight fit of the top showcases your figure and provides some great contrast to the loose fit of the pants. Add on some black sandals and a black bag for a cohesive look.

Blazer

Lastly, no lookbook would be complete without featuring a blazer - I do love a good blazer. The blazer and pants together create a smart, office-worthy look. A thick belt cinches in the waist and elevates the outfit even more.

With ten stylish outfits, you’ll no longer get stuck for inspiration. My top tips are to choose colors and clothing cuts that reflect the mood of summer. For me, that means opting for soft, neutral, and pastel colors and loose, flowy tops, as well as tops that show a bit of skin for optimal comfort and a summery feel. But also remember to be true to your own personal style and wear pieces that you enjoy wearing.
