5-Minute No-foundation Makeup Look Tutorial

Tools and materials:

• Tinted sunscreen
• Glowy highlighter
• SPF skin tint
• Serum eye concealer
• Traditional eye concealer
• Finishing powder

1. Apply a tinted sunscreen

Start with a freshly washed face, and apply a broad spectrum tinted SPF 50 sunscreen.

The one I’m using is very light and has self-adjusting tint pigments. Once it goes on, it’ll initially be white and as you blend it into the skin, it turns into your skin tone.

It’s so light, barely visible, and great on a day when you want SPF but the tiniest amount of coverage.

This is a great first step in evening out your skin tone and it hydrates your skin. It’s a really nice way to flood the skin with hydration without making you look greasy. 

2. Apply a glowy highlighter

To add some additional glow to the skin and also to tighten the skin around the eyes, apply a glowy highlighter.

This is an optional step, but I love it on a no-makeup makeup look for adding glow to the cheekbones.

It makes the skin so beautifully flawless and because it has the tightening ingredient, it’s really good on the eyes.

Blend it in with your fingers.

Also, take it over your eyebrow bone and to the inner corner of your eyes.

3. Add a skin tint cream with additional SPF

For additional SPF and light coverage, apply an SPF 30 tinted cream.

This has micro-encapsulated pigments that blend with your skin and transform into a skin tint. This adds luminosity and a bit more glow and coverage to the first layer you did in step one.

If you like, you can layer one particular product instead of applying both SPF, but I like the additional coverage.

4. Apply a serum eye concealer

A serum eye concealer is great for concealing and hiding imperfections.

The formulation should be like a thick oil so it doesn’t look cakey, or enhance your fine lines and wrinkles. It should also be extremely hydrating.

Apply it underneath your eyes and around your nose if you intend to get red there.

5. Apply a traditional concealer

Use a traditional concealer that has a drying down effect to spot conceal over blemishes or freckles.

This is a great way to make the skin look more flawless.

I sometimes like to add more coverage to the corners of my eyes to get a lifted effect. This area tends to get a bit red as we age as well.

6. Apply a finishing powder

Sunscreen makes the skin look a bit shiny, so use a finishing powder with a powder puff and pop it throughout the center of your face.

This doesn’t add any coverage and only mattifies the skin. Use this opportunity to take down the shine where you don’t want it.

This is how I do a makeup no-foundation look on days when I don’t look like I’m wearing anything on my skin.

You can see the pores on my nose have been minimized, and the skin looks much more even, but you can still see everything about my skin that makes it skin.

Once you finish your face makeup, you can see the skin looks perfected as if you were wearing foundation!
