How to: DIY Chiffon Hair Scrunchies
Scrunchies are super popular now, so I knew I wanted to try and make some of my own. I love being able to experiment with different colors and fabrics and wanted to share with you guys how easy these DIY chiffon scrunchies can be!

Prepare your fabric
First, cut out a rectangle of fabric that is 25 inches long by five inches wide. Lay your fabric flat and double-fold both of the short edges over (iron them down to help keep their shape). Once the edges are securely folded, sew them down using a straight stitch. Next, with the wrong side facing up, fold the fabric in half. Pin the edges together (leaving half an inch seam allowance) and sew. Once you’re done, trim down the excess seam allowance.
Form the scrunchie
Turn the fabric inside out by pinning a safety pin in the corner and threading it through the tube. Press the seam and sew it again using a straight stitch. Next, turn the scrunchie right side out once again and press down the seam. Once that’s done, place both the open edges together (as pictured above) and hem the scrunchie. But keep in mind to leave a small gap for the elastic to go through.
Insert the elastic
Using a safety pin, insert the elastic band into the scrunchie and weave it through. To do this, you will have to gather the fabric around the band. Once the elastic comes out the other end, sew the two ends together. Once that’s done, hand sew the hole in the scrunchie using an invisible stitch.
Repeat this with different colors and styles, add pearls or beads and really make it your own! This chiffon hair scrunchie tutorial is so easy, you won’t be able to help but make a bunch!
