There is also a lot of scope to personalize your headbands by choosing which type of beads, feathers, and ribbons you want to use. These headbands are fun to make and even more fun to wear! Glue gun ready? Let’s go!

Tools and materials:

  • Plain fabric headbands
  • Selection of beads
  • Glue Gun
  • Two hair ties
  • Ribbon
  • Needle and thread or sewing machine
  • Safety pin
  • Feathers

Headband 1

This is so simple. All you need to do is squirt glue on the headband with the glue gun and then stick beads on top. I’ve stuck beds the whole way across the headband, but you could also just have them covering only part of the headband. I’ve gone for mostly round beads, but you can use any beads that you like! It’s so much fun choosing the beads. Wearing this headband makes me feel like I’m wearing a tiara - I love it!

Headband 2

To create this headband, you need to tie two hairbands together in the way shown in the picture. Proceed to wrap the ribbon around one of the hairbands, glue it in place, and then do the same on the other side. So simple and so cute.

Headband 3

For this headband, there are a few more steps involved. You first need to take a long piece of wide ribbon and fold it in half lengthways, with the good sides facing each other. Sew along the long side so that it is sewn shut. Once you’ve done this, use a safety pin and some thread to help you turn the fabric right side out. Insert the headband into the material and pull the material across to come over the whole headband. Cut off any excess fabric and then glue the material to the headband using a glue gun. This headband is plain in design but is very elegant looking.

Here we are creating a feathered headband. Take your feathers and from the bottom of each feather, start gluing them around the headband. Make sure to arrange your feathers so that the bottoms of the shafts are all facing the same direction. Place some glue underneath the top of the feathers and press down to ensure that they stay in place.

I like the second one the best, they are all pretty, but that one can be done to match virtually any outfit. Thank you for sharing them all. :) Blessings!
