Cute and Easy Barbie Ponytail Tutorial
In this tutorial, we’re doing a Barbie ponytail hairstyle inspired by the new movie release!
This high Barbie ponytail is so cute and reminiscent of the iconic Barbie look. Let’s get into it.
Tools and materials:
- Detangling brush
- Smoothing cream
- Hair clips
- Bobby pins
- Hairspray
- Hair straightener
- Hair elastic
1. Detangle
Detangle your hair with a detangling brush straight out of the shower while your hair is still wet.
Start at the end of your hair and work your way up to your roots.
2. Apply smoothing cream
Apply smoothing cream with your hands to smooth down the hair against your head. Don’t apply it to your ends.
3. Brush it back
Brush back only one side of the hair.
4. Section off the front
Section off some hair on the front of the unbrushed side.
Clip it away.
5. Smooth the hair in the back
Use a brush in combination with the smoothing cream to smooth away any flyaways in the back.
6. Combine the back and side sections into a ponytail
Combine the back and side sections of the hair and brush them back into a high ponytail.
The hair in the front should still be hanging out. Tighten.
7. Wrap the front section around the ponytail
Use more cream to smoothly brush the hair in front towards the back, and wrap it around your ponytail.
This will help hide the ponytail. Wrap it tight and it will lift the ponytail to give it the Barbie look.
8. Pin the ends
Once you get to the ends, stick a bobby pin up into your ponytail to secure them.
9. Spray hairspray
Spray hairspray all around to ensure the hair stays in place.
10. Brush
Brush out your ponytail to get rid of any stubborn tangles.
11. Flip the ends
Use a hair straightener and flip the ends.
Go down your hair as if you’re straightening it, and then flip the ends towards the sky. Do this for several small sections.
The higher up you do this, the bigger the flip you’ll get.
12. Brush it out
Brush out the flips and you’ll get the perfect Barbie high ponytail.
