Beautiful Half-up Hairstyle and End It With a Braid
Here’s a variation on the classic half up hairstyle that works on straight or wavy hair.
It looks great from the front and the back and takes just a few minutes to do. Give it a try and see what you think.
Tools and materials:
- Comb
- Hair ties
1. Section
Section off an area of your hair to one side of a center parting and about an inch back from your hairline.
Wrap a hair tie around it and don’t pull the tie too close to your head.
2. Loop
Make a space in the center of the ponytail base and flip the end of the tail over and through the space.
Take the tail all the way through and pull it tight against the tie.
3. Repeat
Do the same on the other side of your head.
Try to keep the partings sharp and clear for the best effect.
4. Braid
Take both tails behind your head.
Divide them into three strands and braid them together.
About 2 inches from the end, use another hair tie to hold the braid together.

Curl the ends of the braid and your hair for a softer effect. This is a beautifully romantic style that looks great for day or evening.
