Have you heard of the new fashion trend called Coastal Grandmother? What is the first thing you envision when trying to put that look together? Despite the reference to grandmother, the aesthetic is for anyone and everyone. Chances are you already have a few items that would give you this look and feel, even if you don't live near a coast. It has been described as crisp, clean, classic, cozy and fuss-free. Think earthy tones, relaxed silhouettes, elevated basics, hats, sweaters, wide leg bottoms and high quality white tees. Here's how we shopped our closets and styled the trend.

A button down is an essential staple of this trend. White may be the more traditional color of coastal granny, but a pop of color is a great way to personalize the trend. Here it's paired with a relaxed neutral wide-leg linen trouser and a thick ribbed classic white tank. A coordinating wide brim hat tops off the look and of course the sun protection is a bonus.

The coastal grandmother trend has a relaxed vibe but here it gets kicked up a notch with the classic button down in a crisp blue stripe, along with a deconstructed neutral blazer. Add relaxed destructed denim and platform white tennis shoes to complete the look. A sporty fedora is a sassy accessory and a little spicier than the usual bucket or brim topper.

Linen pants are most definitely essential for this trend. This classic white pair with pockets feature a relaxed leg and drawstring waist. A coordinating button down neutral stripe linen top with a poncho silhouette matches the relaxed vibe. The slight sparkle thread of the top give it a little extra - easy breezy defined.

Easy breezy basics don't just refer to pants or denim. Whether you're heading to a grad party or hosting a backyard barbecue, a dress is the perfect pick. This striped sleeveless cotton tee dress features a fit that is not too loose or too tight, making it a great event or everyday dress.

Back to those linen drawstring wide leg pants again, but this time adding a soft drapey black tee with a great neckline to show off a favorite beachy necklace, and another coastal granny staple - a sweater. This soft cotton lightweight knit cardigan is the perfect piece to wrap up in while reading a book or scrolling through emails. The all neutral palette captures the coastal aesthetic - throw on a bucket hat and take a stroll! How would you wear the coastal grandmother trend?
