Happy November!!! OMG can you believe that we only have 60 more days left in the year?! I feel like 2021 just came and now it is gone! But it’s ok because I am ready to celebrate and bring in the New Year right (Lord willing)! This month is my favorite month because of THANKSGIVING!!! I am so ready to eat, enjoy my family, and walk into the living room with style! On today’s blog post I will be sharing inspiration on the basic essential living room looks for Thanksgiving. This weeks basic essential is the jeans edition.

1. Light Denim

The first set of jeans is light denim. I use to not be a fan of light denim because it is similar to white for me. White and I have never been friends. I still will not wear white bottoms, but I have grown to love light denim. Light denim can be transitioned into fall months using fall colors (check out my post here), or wearing your basic essentials.

I decided to do a monochromatic look by wearing basic essentials jeans with a basic essential jean top. This is a very simple look and can be dressed up or down. These jeans were on sale at my favorite store, Charlotte Russe. I love this store to purchase jeans because they are always on sale, they have great stretch, and they are curvy girl friendly. This is my go to spot for jeans. The top was purchased from Forever 21 years ago.

I “Style Up” the look by matching with silver accessories and shoes. Platform shoes are a great option when you are in between wanting to wear heels or sneakers. I went with my metallic silver platform shoes to match with my silver belt and handbag. This handbag is a great lux on a budget addition to have, and looks like the real Louis Vuitton (in my opinion). This handbag can help “Style Up” your look from 0 to 100. This handbag can be found here.

Another way to “Style Up” is to tie your top. If you are ok with showing a little skin at the family function, then this style is for you. Pull your jeans over your stomach, if they are not high waisted, and show a little mid drift. I’m pretty sure your cousins and aunts would love to see it!

*Style Tip*: style your top another way by tying up the shirt

2. Ripped Denim

My favorite style of jeans is ripped denim. It gives a rugged look that can be styled in a feminine/girly way. I keep a pair of ripped denim in rotation, because it is my go to look. These jeans were purchased from the men’s section of the thrift store for $3. The jeans did not come ripped, but my boyfriend did a DIY project an created these ripped jeans for me.

*Style Tip* Add fishnet stockings underneath your jeans for a more stylish look

Since the weather starts to get cool in Fall (in Houston at least) I paired the ripped jeans with a black sweater. To add some more “Umph” to your look choose a colored sweater for the fall season. It will give your look more pop and bring out your mood/personality. This black sweater was purchased here .

Add some super cute open toe booties, a matching tote bag, and you are good to go. I call this style boho chic.

Another way to style your ripped denim jeans is by wearing a graphic tee. I love a good graphic tee because it is simple and to the point. This graphic tee was purchased at Burlington for under $7.

Because it will be cool weather for Thanksgiving I “Style Up” the look by adding a basic essential camouflage jacket. I also thrifted this camo jacket from the men’s section for $12. Do not sleep on the men’s section of the thrift store. A lot of gems can be found in that section. Especially during the fall season. Add a luxury vibe and your look is complete. My Coach bag was a great added plus! They are having great sales online right now. Great for Christmas gifts!

3. Dark Denim

The last set of jeans is dark denim. Dark denim is my second favorite pair of jeans because it hides everything. These jeans were purchased from a local store here in Houston called Justin.

*Style Tip* To “Style Up” any look add a different pattern or sparkling accessory

This style is great if you are not wanting to wear heels, and if you are meeting the family for the first time. The shirt was also thrifted from the men’s section, and handbag was thrifted as well. To “Style Up” the look I added a chain belt to give the look a pop. This belt was purchased from Charlotte Russe for $10.

The last way to style dark denim jeans is pairing with a flannel shirt. Flannel is a basic essential print for Fall that you can definitely do many things with. I chose to go with a dark olive green flannel shirt to pair with the dark denim.

The flannel shirt was also purchased from a thrift store. They had so many colors I also purchased a red flannel, and a yellow flannel. You can also switch up the look by wearing a basic white shirt and tying your flannel shirt around your waist. This is another great meet the family look.

I chose to wear thick heel boots, but if you are not in a heel mood switch to a combat boot or cowboy boot. Whichever fits your style more. I purchased these boots from Charlotte Russe for $15! Whoop whoop what a steal! Added my luxury handbag to give this a high low look. Another option for a budget friendly handbag can be purchased here!

Having basic essentials such as jeans is very important to have in your wardrobe. As you can see, you can maximize your jeans in many ways to fit your lifestyle. I hope you enjoyed these living room outfits for Thanksgiving, and that it gives you some ideas on what you can wear. Stay tuned for next weeks living room outfits for Thanksgiving. I like the dark denim with the red shirt, but my family has always considered Thanksgiving as the beginning of the Christmas season and we all dress up for it. Ripped jeans would never be worn to my mom's house!
