Wide Leg Jeans: A Must Have For Fall

Hello friends and happy August! There is still MUCH summer ahead, but August cues me into fall mode every year. Now is the time to start thinking ahead to your fall wardrobe since most of us are set in the summer clothing department. Today I want to talk about wide leg jeans: a must have for fall!

Wide leg jeans are a stylish and versatile choice for your fall wardrobe. They offer a modern and flattering silhouette that suits many body types. A wide leg jean is different from a flare style jean. A flare is fitted through the thigh and then flares out toward the bottom. A wide leg jean is wide all the way down the leg.

Ways To Style Wide Leg Jeans

There are endless brands and styles to choose from when it comes to wide leg jeans. I have two pair to show you today that are new purchases. One is from Loft and is a midrange price point, and the other is more budget friendly from Kohl’s.

Outfit #1

First is this pair from Loft. This the the patch pocket high rise wide leg jeans in the dark vintage wash.

These come in a regular and petite length. I love the length on these because I can wear them with flats. For size reference, I’m wearing a 29 regular. They do run big, so size down if you are in between sizes.

My top is also new from Loft. It’s the Everyday Crossover Top and it looks like a wrap style but does not require any weird snaps or tying. It stays together and will be a great wardrobe staple for all year around.

My only complaint on this top is the sizing. It seems to run big. I’m wearing a medium and as you can see, it is plenty roomy. I was hoping for more of a tailored fit like the model in the photo. Oddly enough the reviews say it runs small, but I disagree.

Outfit #2

The second pair of wide leg jeans is a more casual style from Kohl’s. The SO Super High Rise Wide Leg Jeans are a lighter wash and a more relaxed fit. This is a junior brand so don’t be discouraged if you need to size up! I sized up 2 sizes in these.

I found these in store and what drew me to them was the soft texture and lightweight denim. These will be good for the earlier weeks of fall when it is still quite warm outside. I also like that these are a nice length and can be worn with sneakers or flats.

My top is the only item I kept from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’m not sure if it’s sold out or not, but here is the link. I’m wearing a size large. My shoes have been a favorite this summer. They are the espadrille sneakers from Walmart.
