Summer Disney Outfits

For 3 years now, my family has been staying at the Walt Disney World resort for my youngest sisters birthday. This year, my family and Michael’s family just so happened to plan Disney trips back to back. So I put my Disney skills to the test for 7 days of outfits that would work for the summer heat. We spent all last week enjoying Bonnet Creek and Yacht Club. So of course I wanted to pull together Disney outfits that would match all our plans.

Bonnet CreekOur first two Disney days were spent with Michael’s family at Bonnet Creek. We attended Epcot on our first day, and Magic Kingdom on the second day. Our main objectives were to ride Guardians of the Galaxy and Tron, and also see Happily Ever After. (All of which were accomplished). The first day at Epcot was excruciatingly hot. It was a mistake to not have worn a tennis dress or just exercise clothes in general. So when we headed to Magic Kingdom the next day I made sure to wear a tennis dress. And boy was I glad I did. The sweat was dripping down my back while waiting for Tron, but the tennis dress made sure to keep my comfortable even though I was a puddle on the ground.

Yacht Club Disney Outfit

The rest of the week we spent with my family at the Yacht Club. (One of our favorite resorts! Hands down, the best pool on property). Our first day there is had to fit the theme of the Yacht and Beach Club. This striped shirt has become a staple of my closet this summer. From cruising, to cover-ups, and now Disney World! The only thing that could have made this outfit better, was a Beach Club fanny pack. But that I’ll just save for next year I suppose.

While our trip to Disney World was a full 7 days, I didn’t exactly have the PTO to take days off. So while everyone in my family enjoyed Magic Kingdom during the day, I was working in the hotel. I was able to join them for dinner, and enjoy a ride on Tron after Michael got in the virtual queue in the morning. Since I knew I wouldn’t be at the park very long, or in the heat of the day, I decided to wear my 100 Years of Wonder outfit. This skirt is not the most comfortable to wear all day, and the y-shirt doesn’t breath either. So wearing it in the evening was the perfect compromise.

I haven’t said it yet but I hope it was implied, get yourself a tennis dress. Any kind with sweat wicking fabric. It can be fitted, it can be flowy, it can have shorts built in or you can throw on biker shorts underneath. Whatever it looks like, do yourself a favor and get it if you have a summer trip to Disney, or anywhere in Florida for that matter. They are so much more comfortable than shorts and a shirt. And there’s so much variety out there now that you can Disneybound as whatever character you want.

Did I say invest in a tennis dress yet? Well let me say it again, Invest in a Tennis Dress! This one has built in shorts, which admittedly makes it a bit harder to use the restroom. But it was still easier than trying to pry off my sweat drenched shorts. Do yourself a favor ladies (and gentlemen, if you wish) Get. A. Tennis. Dress.

Checkout day is always the worst day of a Disney vacation (or work-cation). Even as a passholder that lives less than an hour away it’s a tragic day. No parks were visited on checkout day, so Michael and I decided to wear our matching embroidered shirts on the drive home. And how could I not wear it with a new pair of ears bought at Disney Springs the evening before?
