Overview of Spring Date Night Outfits

When I think of Spring date night outfits, I think of a cute top that I typically pair with nicely fitting jeans and a bit of a heeled pump or sandal. I may add a third piece such as a jean jacket, a moto jacket, or a pashmina if the venue is likely to be cool. Oh, and of course a cute bag!

I think shopping for cute tops is my favorite thing to purchase! I get so excited when I find a flattering top; it makes the outfit stand out! In these four looks, I wore the same jeans and nude pumps. but I changed out the handbags and tops to create a different vibe with each look.

Spring Date Night Outfits, Number One:
In this photo, there is a close-up of the shirt which shows the stripes go in a horizontal direction for one half and in a vertical direction for the other half.

Isn’t this a cool top? It’s from Anthropologie and it’s a top in their Maeve line. It’s a bit cropped and I usually hate that! But, this top is fitted through the bustline but then it falls away from the body at the lower torso and waist, so the cropped aspect isn’t unflattering. There are tiny tucks in it which give the piece great structure.

Here is the same black ruffled top but a view from the back. The back has gentle shirring. I wore gold hoop earrings and a black clutch.

The ruffle which is actually a series of rosettes made from black fabric, ends just past the shoulder. It’s such a pretty top! It has shirred elastic across the upper back which again adds subtle interest to the look. My gold hoop earrings are $11!!!! They are from Walmart’s Scoop line! Check them out.

I paired it with J-Crew vintage jeans and nude pumps. My clutch is an old black leather one, but I found a similar one here. Pro-tip: By wearing simple jeans and nude pumps, the top becomes the star of the show. I didn’t wear a necklace because the ruffle is enough and it draws attention to my face. The earrings are simple and not too distracting.

Spring Date Night Outfits, Number Two:
In this second spring date night outfit, I am wearing a black and white somewhat silky striped long-sleeved shirt. It is paired with vintage jeans and a black doctor's bag fr

In this second spring date night outfit, I paired a black and white somewhat silky long-sleeved top with the same vintage J-Crew jeans and nude pumps. I switched my bag to a black leather Coach doctor’s bag. I added a black leather belt by Evereve (similar, here).

Here is a closer-up look of the striped shirt and jeans. Again I wore gold hoop earrings and I added a black leather belt.

Pro-tip: The stripes in this top are especially flattering because they are only horizontal for one-half of the shirt. On the other half, the stripes are vertical. This is a great feature as horizontal stripes across a whole torso can make one’s figure look wider than it actually is.

Here is the first of four Spring date night outfits where I wore a black sleeveless ruffled top with a pair of vintage jeans and nude pumps.
Spring Date Night Outfits, Number Three:
here is the third spring date night outfit. The pale blue sleeveless top is flattering and paired with medium-wash jeans and nude pumps. My J McLaughlin bag is wicker and leather.

In this third spring date night look, I again have on a top by Anthropologie. This is the same style as the black ruffled one above, but this is made of a light blue ticking stripe. It looks good with the medium-wash jeans as well as with white pants by the way.

Here is a rear view of the blue ruffled jeans and top.

My bag is from my favorite place for purses: J McLaughlin. This is last year’s bag but I have linked another similar and equally classic one here.

Here is a close-up of the blue ruffled top fro the fourth of four spring date nigh outfits.

I love how this ruffle frames my face and looks so soft and pretty. Again I wore the simple $11 gold hoops from Walmart. My watch is gold as well.

Spring Date Night Outfits, Number Four:

In this fourth spring date night outfit, I wore a pink flutter-sleeve top from a new company called Avara. I love pink and I love bright colors! Avara is a store that has lots of both! In fact, the darling pink handbag is also from them. I think it looks so “Jackie O”, don’t you? It even has a zipper across the back where I can pop my phone for easy access.

The bag is a simple one and the gold “V” is simple yet elegant. The bag is a terrific find at $68!!!
