How to Add Rhinestone Fringe to a Jean Jacket
Are you up for a fabulous DIY? Follow along to learn how to add rhinestone fringe to a jean jacket with me!
Tools and materials:
- Jean jacket
- Crystal trim
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Liquid fusion glue
- Glitter heat transfer vinyl
- Cricut machine (optional)
- Heat press or iron
1. Measure and cut your rhinestone trim
Cut your rhinestone trim to your desired length. I’m going with 4” pieces.
2. Glue to attach fringe
Add glue parallel to the seam, only a few inches at a time, across the back of the jacket and press on your rhinestone fringe pieces.
Work in sections so that the glue doesn’t dry before you place the bling.
Tip: jump ahead to place the fringe slightly out of order. This way you can better plan out the spacing.
This is what the fringe looks like when you’re done. You can stop here if you like:
3. Add a glitter word (optional)
Use a Cricut machine to cut out the letters of the word you want on the back, from glitter heat transfer vinyl.
If you don’t have the machine, you can use a marker to write out the letters and cut them by hand.
Place the letters on the back of the jacket and press them.
If you don’t have a heat press machine, you can use an iron on a high setting without steam.
Remove the clear film.
Add some small, glitter details in the front too if you’d like.
What do you think of the end results?
