This DIY Accessory is EASY and Makes a Great Gift
Today, we’re going to DIY some Christmas gifts. These key fob wristlets are easy to sew and make great gifts.
Let’s get to it!
Tools and materials:
- Fabric scraps
- Fusible interfacing
- Clamps
- Key fob hardware
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Iron
1. Cut fabric and interfacing
Your fabric needs to be 12 inches long and four times wider than your hardware.
My key fob is 1 inch wide, so I’m cutting my fabric 4 inches wide.
Cut your interfacing to the same size.
Iron the interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric.
2. Fold and press
Fold the strip in half lengthways with the wrong side inside, and press the fold.
Open it out and fold both long edges to the center line. Press again.
Fold it in half one more time and iron it flat.
3. Sew
Sew around all four sides, as close to the edge as you can.
4. Hardware
Remove the keyring temporarily.
Fold the fabric in half and make sure the two ends are even.
Place the hardware over the ends of the wristlet.
Clamp it in place.
You can put a scrap of fabric between the clamp and the hardware if you’re worried about scratching it.
All we have to do now is replace the keyring.
