Have you noticed that often when you see someone in the perfect outfit, it’s all about the details? A great bag, well-done nails, or an unexpected accessory can really elevate the entire look. Today, I’m going to show you guys how to make one of the easiest, yet most beautiful little details: DIY Hair Jewelry.

Since hair jewelry isn’t worn often, they always seem to garner attention. Their simple design and versatility make them easy to style and coordinate. Wear it under a sock bun for a more structured look, or over natural hair for a more boho-vibe. Either way, it makes whatever style you are wearing look more intentional and adds a new level of interest.

The Tutorial:

First, take an attachment ring and secure it to the end of the longest chain. Then, loop it around the edge of your hair comb. Repeat on the other side so you have one chain attaching the 2 combs.

Next, attach your 13″ chain to the center of your hair combs, wrapping the ring attachments around the base of the comb.

Lastly, attach your shortest chain to the top of your hair combs. When you are finished, your comb should look like this:

To wear it, just push the comb teeth into your hair wherever you would like the chains to fall. The teeth will secure your new accessory in place and you are all set!

this is a great idea. You could also add a few interesting beads to the chains like faux pearls for instance and have another gorgeous hair accessory for weddings or another dressy occasion.

I think it would be fun to make for granddaughters.... maybe some old ladies too?
