Contouring the cheekbones

1. Contour your cheekbones

Let’s start with Morticia Addams' Halloween Costume first! We’ll do the iconic Morticia Addams makeup and then move on to her outfit. To begin, contour your cheekbones pretty heavily.

Highlighting the cheekbones

2. Highlight your cheekbones

Next, apply a white highlight right on top of your cheekbones.

Applying eyeshadow to the brow bone

3. Apply eyeshadow to your brow bone

Apply a frosty white eyeshadow underneath your eyebrow and right on the brow bone pretty heavily.

Applying eyeshadow to the inner eyelids

4. Apply eyeshadow to your inner eyelid

Then, apply silver eyeshadow on the inner part of your eyelid.

Creating a smokey eye look

5. Create a smokey eye

Next, grab a black eyeshadow. You preferably want to use one that’s not too pigmented. Use it to make a big, winged-out smokey eye.

Lining the lashes

6. Line your lash lines

Apply a little bit of eyeliner to the top and bottom lash lines.

Applying mascara

7. Apply mascara

Top it off with a little bit of mascara.

8. Apply lip liner and lipstick

For the iconic Morticia Addams red lip, you want to line them first with a red lip liner before filling them in with red lipstick. That’s it for Morticia Addams’ makeup look.

9. Style the costume

Moving on to the outfit. You can get away with pretty much any floor-length dress. I had one without sleeves so I put a little bolero on top to make it look more like a Morticia Addams’ outfit. Very easy!

Braiding hair

1. Make two braids

For Wednesday Addams, we’re going to start with the hair, and all you need to do is part down the middle and make two little braids on the side of your head. The key to nailing the look is to make them start really high, so right behind your ear, and try to braid pretty tightly.

Drawing a widow's peak

2. Draw a widow’s peak

Next, draw on a widow’s peak on your forehead using eyeshadow in the color of your hair. Don’t forget to leave the parting in the middle when you’re drawing this on.

Pulling on the front sides of the hair

3. Pull on the front sides

Pull at the sides a little bit to mimic her own hairstyle and that’s it for the hair. Let’s move on to the makeup.

Straightening eyebrows

4. Straighten eyebrows

For the Wednesday Addams makeup, you want to keep it really simple since this is a child you’re portraying. If your eyebrows are angled like mine, straighten them out since Wednesday as straight and full eyebrows.

Applying gray and taupe eyeshadow

5. Apply eyeshadow

Then, go in with a grayish, taupe-ish eyeshadow and apply it all over the eyelid and up to the eyebrow to make it look like a shadow is falling on your eyelid.

Apply just a little bit of lipstick to the inner parts of your lips and that’s it for the makeup!

7. Style the costume

To nail the Wednesday Addams outfit, all you need to do is wear a white blouse with a black dress over it, preferably one with a high neckline. If you don’t have it, just make do with what you have. It is a last-minute costume after all.
