Easy Halloween Hat
I love Halloween, it's one of my favorite holidays! I am also a movie buff and in honor of the classic movie "The Shining", I made this redrum hat. You can see more of my crazy creations here
I started with a plain black stocking hat that I found at Walmart. I was super lucky that it only cost $1. I even bought a few extras at that price so that I could make a few more for friends.
I used Folk Art multi-surface paint in the color red and finger painted on the word "redrum" replicating the way it was done in the movie.
It is important to pick a paint that is good for fabric so that you can wash it and the paint stays. Fabric paint is another solution. You'll also want to spot test your paint to make sure it'll show up if you're using dark fabric.
I let the paint dry completely and my hat was ready for the season.
