Easy and Elegant Updo Tutorial for Any Special Occasion
Here’s a fast simple way to create an elegant updo for any special occasion.
It doesn’t require any special tools, but wait for the amazing hair clip hack that’s included!
Tools and materials:
- Dry shampoo
- Bobby pins
- Hair elastics
1. Prepare your hair
Start with an application of dry shampoo to get your hair ready for styling this elegant updo.
Separate the front sections of your hair.
2. Make your first bun
Pull the rest of your hair (behind the separated front sections) into a half ponytail, but don’t tie it with a hair elastic.
Twist the half-ponytail at the top.
Secure the top of your half-ponytail with this bobby pin/hair clip hack:
Attach two bobby pins with a small hair elastic.
Now insert one bobby pin into one side of your twisted ponytail, pull the other bobby across and secure it on the other side!
Use your fingers to slightly tease the top of your hair, to make it look more textured.
Start to rotate your ponytail, gently loosening it as you twist.
Wrap the loosely twisted ponytail around itself to get a loose, textured bun, and secure the bun with bobby pins.
3. Make your second bun
Scoop up your remaining hair.
Rotate and twist it into a loose, textured bun as you did with the first bun.
Use bobby pins to hold it in place, and tuck any loose ends into the bun.
You can also tuck in a bit of the front section, but draping it over the top of the bun.
But leave some of the front hair loose for a more elegant look.
