How to Create Unique Jewellery Using Resin
I am discovering how super creative and easy it is to have fun and make yourself jewellery using resin. For this project I used some silver metal cabochons for earrings some Millefiore glass beads and uv ready mixed resin.
I arrange the millefiore glass beads in the cabochon to design a nice well balanced pattern. It takes a few attempts to get the mix looking right.
The glass beads all in place I am loving the colours of blue and green going so well together. In a well ventilated room and with breathing mask on to protect against inhalation I then start to squeeze the resin via the pointed nozzle in to the tray and over the beads. I do this carefully and try and make sure there are no air bubbles or gaps where no resin.
And carefully now I slide them under a UV light for two minutes. You can also do the same thing in sunlight outdoors if you prefer and it’s fine just takes longer time.
I check that they are cured and set firm and nicely done by lightly touching the surface. If it’s still tacky then it needs a longer time under the light.
I’m so delighted with how they turned out after I added the ear hooks. They are ready to wear proudly!
