Add a pop of color to your wardrobe with these Rainbow Button Earrings!

This pair of Rainbow Button Earrings are made with colorful Button Jam Buttons, and is one of the easiest jewelry projects. It's a fun accessory for teens to make to share with friends, or for you to make for yourself to add a pop of color to your wardrobe. Not only are these earrings incredibly easy to make, but don't you agree that they are the perfect accessory to wear during Pride Month?!

To make your own pair of Rainbow Button Earrings, you will need these supplies:

Button Jam buttons come in 12 vibrant colors, and are a fun mix of shapes and sizes. One of my favorite things is that they are packaged in adorable "jam" jars! You will need an assortment of buttons in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.

Sort through the buttons to choose a pair of matching buttons in each color. Button Jam buttons come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so there are a lot of fun ones to choose from. In my personal opinion: the more unique the sets of buttons are, the better!

For each earring, you will need an earring hook, six 10-12mm jump rings, six links of chunky jewelry chain, and some jewelry pliers to help you put the pieces together.

Open the jump rings with the pliers and hook one ring through each of the buttons. Next, attach the top link of the chain through the bottom of the earring hook.

Start with the red button, and hook the jump ring through the left side of the top link in the chain and use the pliers to close the ring. Next, attach the orange button to the chain, but place it on the right side of the second link in the chain. Continue attaching the buttons to the chain on opposite side in rainbow order, with purple at the bottom.

Repeat the process to assemble the second earring. This would be such a great activity to keep teens busy, and would be a creative gift to make for friends and family, especially during Pride Month. I would love to hear if you decide to try this project out for yourself. As always, I would love to see your creations! Share yours on Instagram, Facebook, or leave a comment/photo on the project pin on Pinterest!

Button Jam must pay you well for you to "recommend" these. They are $10/jar ( and for only using 2 buttons from each jar) + shipping. This one pair of earrings would cost $60 PLUS shipping PLUS the metal hardware!!! They look like a cute $5 pair of earrings. Sorry ...

I made earrings similar to yours. Dollar stores had small bottles of buttons too. I also made a necklace to match the earrings. Cute! Endless style possibilities.
