Materials for DIY glitter shoes

1. Gather your materials

For this glitter shoes DIY, you will need extra fine glitter in pink and gold (or any colors you like) as well as some e6000 glue (or similar). I also used some Mod Podge, some painter's tape or duct tape, paint brushes, and a mask for protection. You may also wish to wear gloves.

Adding the glue

2. Add the glue

Start by covering the sole and the heel of the shoe with painter's tape or duct tape.

Then, take the e6000 glue and spread it over the rest of the shoe with your paintbrush. I worked section by section, so the glue doesn’t dry before I get a chance to apply the glitter.

Adding the glitter

3. Add the glitter

Next, I'm lightly sprinkling the glitter over the shoe to coat the whole area where I put the glue. Then, I'm just going to tap the excess off.

Once the first section is complete, I move on to the next and keep going until the entire shoe is covered with glitter.

If you want to add just one color of glitter to the shoe, you can. However, I made the upper half of my heel pink and the lower half gold.

Once both shoes are entirely covered in glitter, you’ll need to leave them to dry for 24 hours.

Applying Mod Podge

4. Apply Mod Podge

Once the glue has set, go in with your Mod Podge and a damp, clean paintbrush.

Apply the Mod Podge all over the shoe to seal everything in, then leave it to dry.
