Simple Tips For Staying Warm In Winter Weather

Cold winter weather is no joke, and dressing to protect yourself from it can be difficult. Living in the south, cold weather is not so common and warmer clothes are hard to find. No matter where you live, here are a few super simple ways to dress warmer for winter.

TIP 1 - WEAR THICK SOCKS UNDER YOUR BOOTS

Boots are great for keeping your feet warm but sometimes they're not enough against cold weather and snow. To keep your feet extra warm, wear a thick pair of socks under your boots. Look for your warmest pair of socks (they can even be fuzzy socks) and wear them under your boots. Keep in mind that the thicker the socks are, you will want to have more room, so you may want to size up a half size if possible.

TIP 2 - WEAR A BEANIE AND SCARF TO PROTECT YOUR FACE AND EARS

Often times we will make sure to cover every part of our body except our face and ears. In cold wintery weather it is so important to cover your ears and nose, as they can cause a cold or headache when too cold. To protect them wear a beanie or earmuffs to cover your ears and wrap a scarf around your face to cover your mouth and nose.

TIP 3 - LAYER LEGGINGS UNDERNEATH YOUR PANTS

This is one of my favorite tricks for staying warm in winter weather. It's tough to find warm pants that keep the heat in. To fix this, layer a thinner pair of leggings (I recommend cloth ones, not workout ones) underneath whatever pants you are wearing. I layer leggings under my jeans to keep my legs warm.

You can also double layer your leggings, or wear leggings underneath a looser pair of sweatpants. As long as your pants don't fit too tight with the leggings you are good to go.

Hi, I ride a motorcycle and in colder weather I wear either a pair of tights or panty hose under my jeans. Makes a great barrier to help keep legs warm and they are not bulky.

Not gonna lie, under my jeans I wear pajama pants with the ankle ribbed knit cuffs. Keeps me warm in the winter.
