Today, I’m doing soft summer makeup makeovers on my two beautiful models.

These makeup summer looks are for older faces and ladies over the age of fifty. Let’s go!

The products I'm using today are from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of product.

Applying primer

1. Apply a face primer

Apply the primer using your fingers and put it all over the face, apart from the eyes and the lips.

The primer I’m using contains aloe vera which smooths out and blurs away any open pores or fine lines.

Applying primer

Use only a couple of pumps, and always apply primer after your moisturizer.

Applying eye primer

2. Apply an eye primer

Apply eye primer with a concealer brush. You can also use your fingers.

Before applying, make sure your eyelids are dry and oil-free. Apply it over the movable part of your eyelid and then blend it in.

Then, bring it up to just over the socket line.

Applying primer

You only need a tiny amount such as the size of a pinhead. This eye primer contains coconut oil which is very nourishing for the eyes.

As we get older, we get a bit of discoloration, fine veins, and pigmentation on our very thin eyelids.

An eye primer will even out your eyelids so when you apply eyeshadow or other eye products, it will last really well.

Applying lip primer

3. Apply a lip primer

Apply the primer just around the outer edge of the lips. It’s important not to put it on the lips.

This primer will stop any bleeding from lipstick. As we get older, we get a few fine lines around our mouth and a lip primer is designed to prevent the lipstick from migrating into those lines.

Applying beauty balm

4. Apply a beauty balm

A beauty balm is one step up from a tinted moisturizer. It gives a healthy and light coverage which is perfect for summer.

Apply with a brush or your fingers.

If you’ve chosen the right color, you won’t need to go down to your neck area and you can blend just to around the jawline.

Applying concealer

5. Apply a cream concealer

Cream concealer gives you an extra bit of help where you need it, such as if you have any dark circles, broken capillaries, or little sunspots.

I’m putting this in the inner corner of Annie’s eyes and a tiny bit around the eye area.

Applying concealer

Apply it in a stippling action and use your finger to tap it in so the concealer melts into the beauty balm.

Never drag at the skin around your eyes because it’s much thinner than everywhere else.

Applying powder

6. Apply a translucent finishing powder

This sheer, fine powder is great for setting makeup and keeping it in place, especially on a hot summer’s day.

Use a powder brush to sweep the powder over the entire face.

Applying cream blush

7. Apply a cream blush

This blush is cream but it turns into a silky powder.

Applying cream blush

Apply it with your fingers to the center of the eye area, and then sweep it up in a teardrop shape.

Applying cream blush

Use a blush brush to blend it in.

Stipple it in so you don’t move the concealer you’ve carefully placed.

Adding bronzer

8. Apply a bronzer over your blush

You can use a summer bronze shade as a contour powder, or over your blush to get more definition if you’re slightly warmer-toned.

Using it over your blush, apply it with the same brush you used for blush and it’ll give you that natural warmth.

Adding bronzer

9. Apply bronzer as a contour powder

Apply the bronzer around the face, the cheek, and the jawlines, wherever you naturally get sun-kissed.

Adding bronzer

Also, apply a little on the neck to bring the neck and face together.

Applying highlighter

10. Apply a highlighter

Apply the highlighter underneath your eyebrows at the highest part.

This will bring that part forward and enhance the eyebrows even more.

Applying highlighter

Put some on the cheekbone as well.

This will reflect light away as you turn without looking too obvious or shiny. It’s a very subtle and dewy effect.

Eyeshadow

11. Apply eyeshadow

For eyeshadow, we’ll be using a warm and dark brown shade.

Applying eyeshadow

Apply the warm brown shade to the eyelid first, then use the dark brown above the socket line to help lift the eye.

When using a dark color, you need to blend it well, so use a blender brush to do so.

Lining eyes

12. Define the eyes with an eyeliner pencil

With a dark brown eyeliner pencil, use short strokes to apply eyeliner along the base of the lashes.

Applying mascara

13. Apply waterproof mascara

Waterproof mascara is great to stop anything from moving.

Wiggle the product through the base of the lashes to coat them.

Applying lip liner

14. Fill in the lips with lip liner

Instead of just outlining, fill in the lips with the lip liner so if the lipstick wears off, you’re not left with just a line.

It also gives a nice base before applying lipstick.

Applying lipstick

15. Apply lipstick

Place the lipstick over wherever you already placed the liner. This vibrant color is lovely for summer.
