Tips for Storing Your Bag for the Season

The weather’s nice, and I’m ready for a change, so I’m going to switch out my everyday leather bag for something different.
When you retire a bag for the season, it’s really important that you store it properly, so it’s nice and fresh when you return to it.
Tools and materials:
- Bag
- Lint roller
- Leather cleaner
- Leather moisturizer
- Cloth
- Stuffing material
1. Empty the bag
First, empty everything out of your bag.
2. Clean the inside
Take out any loose dust and go over the inside with a lint roller.
3. Clean the outside
Clean the outside with a leather cleaner and a leather moisturizer. Give it a thorough clean down.
Don’t skip the leather moisturizer. This is what’s going to prevent the outside of your bag from cracking.
4. Stuff the bag
Stuff the bag with old scarves, air pockets, or towels. This will help the bag to keep its shape and not get all flat and floppy.
5. Remove straps
Remove straps and tuck them inside.
6. Store safely
Then store safely inside a dust bag to prevent any dust and discoloration.
