No-Sew DIY Sequin Skirt
Sequin is a huge trend! I have been so obsessed with sequin clothes so I knew exactly what my next DIY would be. Follow along as I take a pair of jeans and transform them into a magnificent sequin skirt. Oh and I forgot to mention, this is a no-sew DIY! Could you be more excited?
Tools and materials:
- Jeans
- Sequins
- Fabric glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
Mark and cut the jeans
To start off, I marked my desired length for the sequin skirt on the pair of jeans.
Next, I folded the jeans in half and cut along the marking I had made.
I went ahead and cut the inside seam so that I would have the perfect skirt from this old pair of jeans.
Fill in the gaps
I grabbed my scissors and cut the plain fabric from the legs of the old jeans.
I flipped the skirt inside out and applied fabric glue along the inner seam.
I then stuck on the extra denim fabric I had just cut.
I repeated this process on the other side and cut the uneven fabric from the bottom of the skirt.
Add sequins
I thought it would be really cool to cover one half of the skirt in sequins. I placed the sequin piece on the skirt half and cut it to size.
The next step was to apply fabric glue along the edge of the half I would cover with sequins.
I placed the sequins on the skirt and gently pressed to stick them on.
Once that was done, I cut off the extra sequin fabric.
I then repeated the process on the opposite back side of the skirt.
This skirt is everything I wanted and more! So excited about this sequin piece I get to add to my wardrobe! Let me know what you think about this DIY!
