Easy and Elegant Braided Scarf Tutorial

5 Minutes
Easy

Silk scarves have got to be my favorite accessory, and part of the reason why is that there is so much you can do with them.

I like to think of myself as doing origami with my scarves, continuously styling them in new and different ways.

In this scarf styling tutorial, I will show you how you can make a braid from your scarf.

Making a band

1. Make a band

First, fold your scarf into a band.

Tying a knot

2. Tie a knot

Place it around your neck and tie a knot at the front. The two ends should fall to an equal length.

Crossing the bottom piece over

3. Cross the bottom piece over

Take the end that is underneath and cross it over the end on top.

Bringing it under the side

4. Bring it under the side

Then pass it under the side of your scarf and pull it out from the front.

Crossing the second piece

5. Cross the second piece

Now take the longer end, cross it over the shorter one and pass it under your scarf.

Repeating

6. Repeat

Repeat this process until you have used all the scarf.

Tying a knot

7. Tie a knot

Fix it with a knot when you are done.

We are used to scarves being long and flowy, but this is a great example of how you can style them differently in a way that is shorter and more like a necklace.

I adore this gorgeous braid and think it is the perfect accessory. It is really easy to achieve, so why not give it a go?
