Crown Braid Tutorial for This Elegant Look
I bet you haven’t seen this kind of hairstyle before! Follow along with my step-by-step tutorial to create an elegant crown braid.
You’ll be sure to turn heads with this gorgeous braid idea. You can start with straight or curly hair.
Tools and materials:
- Bobby pins
1. Make a loop with a small section of hair
With all of your hair down and to the back, grab a small section of hair from above the temple and loop it around your fingers at the back.
It’s a swirling motion. Hold the loop in place at the back of your head.
2. Make a loop within a loop
Lay the loop flat. Then pull a similarly sized section of hair from inside the loop through it, creating a loop within a loop.
3. Continue making loops to create a crown braid
Repeat this swirling motion, creating a chain of loops, all the way around the back of your head to create the crown aspect of the braid.
Pin the last loop in place with bobby pins, hiding them under the hair behind your ear.
Pinch and pull at the loops to fluff them out and here is the final look:
